Anne Hutchinson Led From Boston

Guilty!! Shocker.

After realizing what a crazy nutbag Anne Hutchinson is, the Bay Colony of Massachusetts threw her out on the streets. She’s officially banished and is now heading to Providence, Rhode Island to join the other crazy nutbag, R-Wills, who believes in “freedom of religion”.

Now they can be crazy together!

Perfect!

y’all.

1 Dec 11 # Final assignment jbfield300

For your final assignment, you will use an actual published article by an actual Clemson English Department faculty member and use its approach to make an argument of your own about a book, poem, film, or other cultural artifact. (1,500 words.)

The phrase “use its approach” seems to be causing some agitation. To restate: your argument should be clearly informed by a specific article published by a member of the English department at Clemson University. “Informed by”  means that you demonstrate an understanding of the article, that you cite it appropriately (Tumblr does not handle footnotes well, so you can use parenthetical citation, but make sure your citations are accurate), and that you use it to make an argument of your own about a text (novel, play, poem, film, TV show, image, sculpture, video game, website, historical site, other article etc, of your own).

Harry Belafonte and Martin Luther King Jr.

There are not nearly enough pictures of Dr. King laughing in my life. I love this.

I also can’t help thinking that Belafonte is describing white folks trying to Calypso.

21 Nov 11 # I hope so! jbfield300

“I believe that we should read Dr. Manganelli’s article in ENGL 300 because it bridges the gap between two different ideas (in this case, the mulatta and the muse) in order to show how effortless it is to find a cohesion between both ideas for the purpose of elaborating on a subject of which we are familiar or that we find to have a personal, cultural or society connection to ourselves (gender, race, sexuality or a combination of two or three of those concepts). With that being said, this particular article would probably only appeal to the female students and maybe the minority students of the class. Still, it is possible for students who are male or non-minority to formulate opinions and thoughts about how things such as gender sexuality or racial individuality can affect them and how they view the world because many of our discussions in class have been based around this type of thought creation and processing.”
